After the successful staging of Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters, here is Maskerade, or The Phantom of the Opera! Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg, the greatest witches on Discworld, set off to the Ankh-Morpork Opera where a mad Ghost is running around and dead bodies are falling from the gridiron like flies. But “the show must go on”! At the VII year of the GRAND Festival of Laughter in Pardubice, Maskerade became the Comedy of the Year 2006 when it was awarded a prize by expert critics as well as by the spectators. Helena Dvořáková obtained a prize at the same event for the best women’s acting performance as the character of Agnes Nitt.
