The famous Broadway musical Cabaret came into being in 1966, based on the play “I am a Camera” by John van Druten, who drew upon the autobiography by the writer and actor Christopher Isherwood. The story of this musical with an impressive love-plot is set in the Berlin of 1931, when the Nazi evil begins to infest the seemingly untroubled atmosphere of the city. In the story, which reminds of an alarming memento, moments of love and cruelty mingle aiming at revealing the rawness and absurdity of the human life on the threshold of the war disaster.
