Born on 6. 11. 1958 in Nové Město na Moravě
1973-1977 graduated from the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Brno,
1981-1985 puppet scenography at the Theatre Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
1990–1993 he was a co-founder and expert assistant of the stage design department at JAMU in Brno.
In addition to the stage design for dramatic and musical theatres, he also devotes his time to puppet theatre and children's theatre. He created and realized more than 300 scenographic designs, costumes and puppet designs for Czech and foreign theatres - he has participated in productions in Germany, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Slovakia. He regularly works with a number of directors, including Stanislav Moša, Petr Kracik, Petr Svojtka, Stano Slovák, Zoja Mikotová, Jan Borna, Zbyněk Srba, Pavel Polák and others. Jaroslav Milfajt has also dedicated himself to pedagogical activities in the long run (Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Brno, JAMU); he is also the author of interior design and exhibition expositions.
